Our group has a great interest in the design and synthesis of densely functionalized heterocycles of biological relevance. The research depends heavily on both bio and metal catalysis as well as combinatorial and targeted synthesis. To achieve our goals, the group, of on average 15 researchers, has access to the latest analytical and synthetic tools including novel technologies such as state-of-the-art NMR machines and an in-house developed parallel high pressure synthesizer.

Major research efforts include the development of new catalytic methodologies and (bio)catalytic cascades, bioconjugation via 'click' chemistry and organic reactions in microfluidic devices.
